Profile & Story

Thevenet & Fils is a Chardonnay-focused estate in the Mâconnais village of Pierreclos, in southern Burgundy. This Blanc de Blancs is made entirely from Chardonnay grown on younger vines around 20 years old in the neighboring village of Serrières, on west-facing parcels of sandy soil. Depending on the character of the vintage, malolactic fermentation is sometimes allowed and sometimes blocked to preserve freshness, and the dosage is kept minimal. Production is limited to about 6,000 bottles a year.
