Blandy's has produced Madeira since 1811 and remains a family-run house, today guided by seventh-generation Chris Blandy. This is their 10-Year-Old Verdelho, a non-vintage blended Madeira made in a medium-dry style.
Tasting Notes
As Robert Parker's Wine Advocate describes it, the wine shows a delightful, resinous bouquet with touches of mahogany and hazelnut; the palate is crisp and taut on entry with vibrant acidity and more depth than its counterpart Sercial, finishing focused with a subtle smoky note.
Pairing Recommendation
Excellent served slightly chilled as an aperitif, and a fine partner for soups, oysters, feathered game and pâtés.
