Profile & Story

Bodega Noemía was founded in Argentina's Río Negro Valley, Patagonia, when Italian Countess Noemi Marone Cinzano and Danish winemaker Hans Vinding-Diers restored an old Malbec vineyard and, after early recognition at a wine fair, committed to the project in earnest; Hans Vinding-Diers and his family have since taken over sole ownership. Their guiding philosophy is to "bring the vineyard to the bottle in the most sincere way," through hand-picking, traditional extraction and spontaneous fermentation. A Lisa is sourced under long-term lease from growers in the Mainqué area, from ancient vine clones averaging 40 years old, harvested from February into late March and fermented with yeast selections from a Danish laboratory before aging in oak vats and barriques.

Tasting Notes

Old-vine Patagonian Malbecs from Río Negro of this style are typically deep violet-purple in color, with dark berry fruit, a touch of cocoa and mineral lift, and a fresh, structured palate shaped by the region's cool, dry desert climate.
