Profile & Story
Champagne Louis de Sacy traces its roots to the village of Verzy, a Grand Cru terroir on the Montagne de Reims where the Sacy family's presence is documented from 1633; André Sacy founded the house in 1962, and today it is run by the 13th generation, siblings Yaël and Jonathan Sacy. The estate farms 18 hectares across 23 parcels in Verzy, Cernay, Trellon and Bligny. Cuvée Originel is a blend of 46% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay and 14% Meunier drawn from the Bligny, Cernay and Treslon terroirs, built on a 2019 base wine with 25% reserve wines and a dosage of 1g/l.
Tasting Notes
Fine, prolific bubbles support a color of typical champagne gold with a hint of yellow. The nose is a mix of flowers and fruit with well-developed maturity, while the palate shows smoke, ripe damson plum and blackberry alongside lightly charred toast, golden raisin and roasted nut, finishing tangy and well structured.
