Profile & Story

The Bura (Bura-Mrgudic) family has one of the longest winemaking traditions on the Peljesac Peninsula in Dalmatia, spanning sixteen generations since 1410. This dry skin-contact white is 100% Rukatac (also known as Marastina), organically farmed on red clay over limestone at about 300 m. The hand-harvested grapes are destemmed and fermented in open vats with native yeasts and around seven days of skin maceration, then aged four months in stainless steel and bottled after a coarse filtration. 12.5% alcohol.

Tasting Notes

A delightful golden color; fresh but with rustic, chalky, limestone-like tannins, mineral-driven and saline, finishing with a touch of viscous almond bitterness.

Pairing Recommendation

Great with shellfish and fattier fish, and surprisingly good with grilled or roasted pork or veal.
