Jure Brumec farms in the rolling hills of Stajerska in north-eastern Slovenia, making low-intervention wines by hand. Ottokar is a skin-contact orange wine crafted from Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc and Traminer; it is unfiltered.
Tasting Notes
Golden and slightly hazy. The nose offers apricot skin, tangerine zest and wildflowers; the palate is textured and grippy, with dried mango, honeysuckle and grapefruit pith and a whisper of warm spice such as cinnamon or clove.
Pairing Recommendation
Pairs with wood-fired margherita pizza, grilled fish with mango salsa, or coconut curry shrimp.
