Oszkar Maurer's family has made wine for four generations in what was part of Hungary until 1920, today in the Vojvodina region of Serbia; he farms organically and mentors younger winemakers. Many of his labels feature artwork by children from his village; 'Crazy Lud' bears a goose, since 'lud' means goose in Hungarian and 'crazy' in Serbian. This red blends Kekfrankos, Cabernet Sauvignon, Kadarka, Muscat and Prokupac, aged a year in used oak with zero added sulfur.
