Profile & Story
Mildiani is a family winery in Kakheti, in eastern Georgia. This Saperavi is made in the traditional Georgian qvevri, buried clay vessels, from 100% Saperavi; it is a dry red with high ageing potential.
Tasting Notes
Deep dogwood-red with a brick rim. The bouquet is rich and complex, with oak and age showing early alongside fresh red fruit, dark sweet cherry, bilberry, dogwood and prune, over black pepper, warm spice and tobacco. Full and well-balanced on the palate, with noticeable acidity and plentiful tannin.
Pairing Recommendation
Best served at 15 to 18 degrees Celsius; pairs well with barbecue, spicy fried meat and kubdari (Georgian meat-filled bread).
