Lakewood Vineyards is a family-owned farm winery on the west side of Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes, established in 1988; winemaker Chris Stamp (grandson of the founders) has crafted every vintage, while his cousin David Stamp oversees the estate's 100 acres of vineyards, some vines dating to 1952. This Chardonnay is 100% Chardonnay from Seneca Lake fruit (76% Seneca Shore, 24% Glenora Farms), aged 10 months in a combination of American and French oak barrels with 100% malolactic fermentation. Alc 13.4%, RS 5.9 g/L, pH 3.66.
Tasting Notes
Fermented and aged in oak, this creamy wine shows a great balance of fruit, butter and a hint of oak.
