Kutná Hora
Central Bohemian Region, Czech Republic
Already in the oldest Bohemian chronicle it is written that the oldest vineyard was established here in Kutná Hora in 1101 by the famous Cistercian Order. They are known to have established vineyards in the most famous wine-growing regions throughout Europe. Thanks to their wisdom, Kutná Hora also belongs to this list. Our family winery was established by Stanislav Rudolfský in 2002. His son Lukáš took over his duties in 2005, to lead the restoration of the glory of viticulture in Kutná Hora. Our whole production is biodynamic, certified with the prestigious DEMETER label. We let the vines grow on ancient sites around the historical UNESCO town of Kutna Hora, near Prague. We work without causing harm to the environment, sustaining the health of our plants with herbal extracts, which we produce ourselves. Our activities improve the quality of the soil. All our wines ferment spontaneously. We work with fine lees to protect and heal them and minimize the use of sulphur. White wines are usually bottled after a gentle filtration, whereas reds are bottled unfiltered. Every bottle contains beneficial substances and is true to its terroir.
