Profile & Story

Camigliano is a medieval village estate in Montalcino, Tuscany, and one of the largest producers in the Brunello di Montalcino denomination, farming organically since 1957. The wine is 100% Sangiovese Grosso grown on clayey soil with good limestone and silt content at a density of 5,000 plants per hectare, trained on spurred cordon. Vinification uses soft pressing and fermentation in stainless steel at 26-28C with moderate pumping-over and 20-30 days of skin maceration, followed by 24 months aging in oak barrels and a further 12 months in bottle.

Tasting Notes

A great wine with intense aromas and balanced tannins that expresses the character of its terroir; classy and built to reward further bottle evolution.

Pairing Recommendation

Best served at 18C, paired with game, beef and aged cheeses, or enjoyed alone as a meditation wine.
