Chartreuse liqueurs have been produced by the Carthusian monks since the 17th century, based on a secret 130-plant recipe. This cuvee, first created in 2008, is a special Chartreuse Jaune blend developed by the Chartreux Fathers in close collaboration with the Meilleurs Ouvriers de France Sommeliers - an elite group of top French sommeliers - who worked with the monks to select traditional Yellow Chartreuse liqueurs and achieve a different aromatic balance emphasizing freshness and liveliness. It is bottled at 45% ABV from alcohol, sugar, water and vegetable substances (130 plants, bark, roots, spices and flowers).
