Domaine de la Mandelière is run by Charly Nicolle and his wife Lucie Thiéblemont from the village of Fleys in Chablis. Founded in 1979 with under a hectare by Robert Nicolle and Josette Laroche, the estate now farms 20 hectares; Charly has been taking over the family vineyards since 1997 and was named Chablis' Best Young Talent in 2019 by the Groupe des Jeunes Professionnels de la Vigne. The domaine is HVE-certified sustainable, with organic certification underway for select vineyards, and uses small steel tanks of varying sizes to manage lees contact and coax out precision in the wines. Imported to the US by Uva Imports.
Tasting Notes
An expressive nose of summer flowers, citrus and orchard fruit like apple and pear. A distinctive salty sensation drives the minerality and palate; medium-bodied, with fortitude and persistence through the finish.
