Herve Rafflin has run his family's small Champagne estate in the Montagne de Reims (Chigny-les-Roses, Ludes, Rilly-la-Montagne and Taissy) since 2001, continuing a winemaking lineage in the region dating to the 1840s. The 5-hectare estate, organically farmed and certified since 2021, is planted primarily to Pinot Meunier (80%), with Pinot Noir (5%) and Chardonnay (15%) from vines averaging 30-40 years old; annual production is limited to 5,000-13,000 bottles. La Nature'l 1er Cru Extra Brut is vinified traditionally with a light dosage of around 1.8 g/L.
