Profile & Story

Sieur d'Arques is a wine cooperative based in Limoux, in the Languedoc, whose Toques et Clochers range takes its name from the region's culinary and architectural heritage. Limoux is considered the birthplace of sparkling wine, tracing to Benedictine monks at the Abbey of Saint-Hilaire in 1531. This Cremant de Limoux is a blend of Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc and Mauzac, hand-harvested and vinified by the traditional method with a minimum of 30 months' aging on the lees.

Tasting Notes

Delicate and creamy mousse, with very fine, numerous bubbles rising through a brilliant pale-yellow robe with green reflections. The nose is delicate, showing subtle citrus and toasted notes with a hint of hazelnut. The palate attack is frank and lively, with a creamy sensation from the bubbles; citrus, brioche and toasted notes fill the mouth and provide length, finishing harmonious, fresh and subtly elegant.
