Cantina Giardino is a joint venture of six friends, led by Antonio and Daniela di Gruttola, dedicated to preserving old vineyards and native grape varieties around Irpinia in Campania. The project farms 16 scattered parcels totaling roughly six hectares, many of them vines over fifty years old rescued from local farmers facing abandonment. Antonio ages the wines instinctively across a mix of oak and cherry-wood barrels, demi-muids, steel, fiberglass, and hand-made amphorae that Daniela crafts from local clay, with the vessel and duration for each cuvee decided vintage by vintage. T'ara ra is their orange expression of Greco, given extended skin contact in this varied cellar.
