Viña Echeverría is a family-run estate winery near Molina, in Chile's Curicó Valley, founded in 1930 with agricultural roots reaching back to the 1700s. El Compadre draws its fruit from the cool-climate Valle de Malleco, roughly 340 miles south of Santiago, where volcanic soils and wide diurnal swings slow ripening. The wine sees a 4-5 day cold skin maceration, wild-yeast fermentation in stainless steel, and six months in French oak for 75% of the blend.
