About the Wine
The 2023 La Frenz Chardonnay is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes sourced from the Freedom 75 and Rockyfeller vineyards in Naramata and the Golden Mile. The grapes were hand-harvested in September 2023, with clones and vineyard blocks kept separate. The juice was gently pressed, with a portion undergoing short skin contact. 70% of the free-run juice was fermented in stainless steel tanks at cool temperatures to retain fruit aromatics and flavors, then aged sur lie for four months. The remaining 30% was barrel-fermented (30% new oak) at warmer temperatures for greater texture and complexity. The wine was carefully blended, lightly filtered, and bottled on March 19th, 2024. It has an alcohol content of 12.5%, a pH of 3.50, total acidity of 6.23 g/L, and residual sugar of 3.0 g/L.
Tasting Notes
The wine features a "peaches and cream" style with notable complexity and a lush, creamy finish. Aromas of citrus, Red Haven peach, and toasted hazelnut lead to a palate of pears, melon, and lemon custard, draped in warm crème brûlée notes.

Pairs well with roast chicken or lobster bisque.
