Built in 1992 on the slopes of Mount Talai Mendi in Zarautz, Talai Berri was the first winery built exclusively for Txakoli production and helped establish the Getariako Txakolina D.O. Founder Bixente Eizaguirre, a fourth-generation winemaker, pioneered pneumatic presses and temperature control in the appellation; today his daughters Itziar and Onditz, the fifth generation, run the 12-hectare estate, certified 'producción integrada' since 2010.
