Profile & Story
Founded in 1975 by Dionisio Ruiz Ijalba on reclaimed gravel quarries near Logroño, Viña Ijalba has farmed organically since 1994 — earning Rioja's first organic wine certification in 1999 — and in 1995 released the first varietal Graciano in Rioja's history, part of the estate's broader work reviving native Rioja varieties like Maturana Blanca and Maturana Tinta.
Tasting Notes
Complex aromas of 'pacharán' (blackthorn berries), wet grass, green pepper, cherry liqueur and liquorice; fleshy with balanced acidity and abundant fruit. 100% ecological.
