Founded in 1811, Blandy's is the only one of Madeira's founding wine families still independently owning and running its original company. Malmsey, made from hand-harvested Malvasia grapes, is the richest and sweetest of Madeira's four noble styles, aged using the traditional canteiro system in the warm upper floors of the Funchal lodges.
