Jean-Hubert and Brigitte Verdaguer helm Domaine de Rancy in the Roussillon, one of a handful of estates still producing traditional oxidative-style Ambre Rivesaltes. Made from late-harvested Macabeo with a touch of Grenache Blanc/Gris, the wine ages for years in barrel across three rock-hewn cellars before release.
Tasting Notes
Deep amber in color with notes of fig, date, toasted hazelnut, and caramel, a legacy of slow oxidative aging.
Pairing Recommendation
Excellent with dark chocolate desserts, aged cheese, or simply on its own.
