G. Wanner is the newer, more playful side-project of Pierre Hugot, the young grower behind the acclaimed Champagne Helene, whose own apprenticeships ran through Burgundy addresses like Comte Liger-Belair, Roulot, and Chavy-Chouet. The "XIX" bottling draws 100% Chardonnay from the Cote de Sezanne, built on the 2019 harvest with a splash of 2018 and 2017 reserve wines, fermented and aged entirely in stainless steel to preserve freshness and precision.
Tasting Notes
Bone-dry and bracing, with lemon curd and green apple over a chalky, mineral-driven core; a fine, persistent bead and a low-dosage, cutting clarity define the finish.
