Debuted in 1974, Insignia was California's first proprietary red Bordeaux-style blend and remains Joseph Phelps' flagship wine, sourced from the estate's top lots across St. Helena, Stags Leap, and Oakville. The 2022 is a Cabernet Sauvignon-led blend rounded out with small amounts of Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec, aged 24 months in new French oak.
Tasting Notes
Dense and layered, with dark berry fruit, cassis, and cedar over a full-bodied, richly structured frame with a long finish.
