Ken Forrester is widely credited as Chenin Blanc's leading South African ambassador, having spent decades restoring the variety's reputation from the Helderberg slopes of Stellenbosch. The Old Vine Reserve is sourced from dry-farmed vines planted in 1976, barrel- and tank-fermented in two separate lots and aged nine months on the lees in French oak (about 20% new) to build texture without masking the fruit.
