Corrado De Angelis Corvi established this winery in 2002 in the rolling hills around Teramo, overlooking the Val Vibrata, where the vineyards are caressed by breezes off both the Adriatic and the Apennines. The estate runs to 8 hectares, 6 of them planted to Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and 2 to Trebbiano, Malvasia and Passerina. Corrado farms by traditional organic methods and holds Biologica certification; everything is cultivated and harvested by hand, only the finest clusters selected and placed in small 20-kilogram bins before crush, with yields and vine density tightly controlled. In little over a decade he built a reputation for award-winning Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Colline Teramane.
Tasting Notes
Montepulciano d'Abruzzo typically shows a deep ruby colour with aromas of ripe black cherry and plum over herbal, faintly earthy notes, a medium- to full-bodied palate with soft, rounded tannins, moderate acidity and a savoury finish.
