Profile & Story

Le Casematte was founded in 2008 by former Italian international footballer Andrea Barzagli and Gianfranco Sabbatino on the Faro peninsula north of Messina, Sicily; vineyards climb to 500m on volcanic soils overlooking the Strait of Messina. Rosematte is 100% Nerello Mascalese, farmed organically, carrying the Terre Siciliane IGP designation.

Tasting Notes

Pale salmon-pink rosato with the red-berry freshness and mineral lift typical of Nerello Mascalese grown near the Strait of Messina.
