Profile & Story
Fratelli Mossio farms in Rodello, between Barolo and Barbaresco, run today by brothers Valerio and Remo with nephew Michele. Piano Delli Perdoni is a single 7-hectare cru in Rodello (420m, sand/limestone/clay soils), hand-harvested in the last week of September, fermented in steel with ten days' skin maceration, then bottled unfiltered in August after two months' refinement in bottle.
Tasting Notes
Ruby red with violet reflections; aromas of black cherry, wild blackberry, violet, almond and subtle spice; rich and tonic on the palate with a balsamic, fruity finish.
Pairing Recommendation
Excellent with salumi, tajarin pasta, mushroom dishes, roasted poultry, rustic stews, and aged alpine cheeses.
