Profile & Story

Tempo d'Angélus was launched by the Angélus estate (Famille de Boüard de Laforest) in the 2019 vintage as a more accessible everyday Bordeaux, made in the same 'Chai Carillon' cellar and by the same team as the estate's Grand Cru Classé A wine, but designed to be enjoyed young. Fruit is drawn from Bordeaux AOP plots the estate acquired in the Côtes de Castillon area (Saint-Magne-de-Castillon, Castillon-la-Bataille, Sainte-Colombe) on clay-limestone slopes; the blend is approximately 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc.

Tasting Notes

Clear, dark color with a nose of fresh red berry fruit -- small berries and cherries -- and subtle oak. The palate has verticality and fine acidity giving freshness and pure fruit, finishing with soft, round tannins and notes of roasted coffee bean and toasted oak.
