Pereira D'Oliveira (D'Oliveiras) ages this fortified wine exclusively from Malvasia (Malvasia Candida) grapes via the traditional canteiro cask-aging system for a minimum of 20 years before bottling; vintage expressions like this one are, in the house's own framing, among the finest examples of old Madeira. Winemaker Filipe D'Oliveira; volcanic basalt soil at 150-200m elevation; ABV 20%; 160 g/L residual sugar.

Tasting Notes

A lifted aroma of orange blossom, flowers, sultana, apricot jam and a hint of smokiness; a spicy, rich palate of caramel, marmalade and roasted hazelnut, wrapped in bright acidity with a smooth, lingering finish.
