Alain Graillot founded his eponymous domaine in 1985 after working at Domaine Dujac; he passed away in March 2022, and the estate is now run by sons Maxime and Antoine. 'La Guiraude' is a barrel selection of the domaine's finest lots, made only in strong vintages, from 100% Syrah off vines 30+ years old, fully whole-cluster fermented with indigenous yeast and aged 12 months in mostly used French oak barrels; ABV 14.0%.
Tasting Notes
Structured, layered and well-composed, with aromas of spiced berries, cassis, dark cherries, currants, violets and warm spices; medium-bodied with fine, firm tannins and a juicy, focused finish.
