Profile & Story

Five generations of the Chastan family have farmed limestone slopes in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, organic for the past 40 years. The 2021 comes from clay-limestone terroir studded with sun-warmed galets roulés, from vines averaging 50 years old, yielding 35 hL/ha. Manually harvested with partial destemming and light crushing, fermented 25 days in concrete, then aged 12 months (roughly 70% in 45hL foudres, 10% in 400L barrels, 25% in steel per the producer); ABV 14.5%.
