Profile & Story

Renaissance Vineyard & Winery was founded in the late 1970s on steep, terraced slopes (1,700-2,300 ft elevation) of decomposed granite in the North Yuba AVA, one of the more remote and distinctive sites in the Sierra Foothills; the estate is known for holding wines back for extended aging before release. This bottling is 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot and 1% Syrah; ABV 13.6%.

Tasting Notes

Dark garnet color with aromas of crushed herbs, graphite, tobacco and cherry; a palate of juicy cherry, cedar and graphite flavors wrapped in a soft blanket of tannin and bright acidity, still developing complexity.
