Profile & Story
Fio Wines is a joint venture on Germany's Mosel between the Kettern family, longtime growers there, and Portuguese winemaker Dirk Niepoort. 'Glou Glou' Orange is a certified-organic, skin-contact blend of Pinot Blanc and Muller-Thurgau, spontaneously fermented partly in stainless steel and partly in old fuder and doppelfuder casks from the 1940s-60s, then aged on the lees for about 10 months.
Tasting Notes
Citrus-forward and floral on the nose, with notes of orange peel and white blossom; the palate is medium-bodied with bright acidity, fresh citrus fruit, and a touch of the grippy texture skin contact gives, finishing clean.
