Bodegas Lustau established the solera for this Oloroso in 1921, under founder Emilio Lustau, to commemorate the visit to Jerez of Eugenia de Montijo, the last Empress of France. It ages for fifteen years in the bodega's soleras.
Tasting Notes
Dark gold with khaki hues. Penetrating aromas of noble wood, varnish, and nuts show great concentration, while the palate is rich and mellow with smoky wood, prunes, and bitter chocolate through a warming, lingering finish.
Pairing Recommendation
Well suited to red and smoked meats, game, mature cheeses, and spicy Asian dishes, or enjoyed on its own as a digestif.
