Profile & Story
Nikos Douloufakis runs a small, quality-focused organic estate in Dafnes, a village south of Heraklion in Crete, known for meticulous chemical-free farming and for exploring skin-contact and amphora fermentation alongside classic methods. Dafnios is made from 100% Liatiko, one of Crete's oldest indigenous red varieties and the traditional grape of the Dafnes appellation, aged about 12 months in used French oak barrels.
Tasting Notes
Ruby in color, with concentrated aromas of red fruit, herbs, leather, and light floral notes; light-bodied on the palate with good acidity, soft, delicious tannins, and a long finish.

The winery recommends pairing it with roasted lamb, tomato and basil pasta, or a feta and chickpea salad.
