Gitton Pere et Fils is a family domaine in Menetreol-sous-Sancerre in the Loire Valley, founded in 1945 by Marcel and Huguette Gitton and run today by fourth-generation winemaker Chantal Gitton, who vinifies each of the estate's many parcels separately according to soil and exposure. Les Echeneaux comes from a younger vineyard planted on flinty (silex) soils and is aged in older demi-muid oak casks to build texture without adding overt wood character.
