Profile & Story
Domaine Montrose is a Coste family estate in Valros, in the Herault department of the Languedoc, where the family has made wine for nine generations since around 1550. Solis Lumen ('the light of the sun') is a skin-contact orange wine blending 90% Muscat petits grains with 10% Grenache Gris from calcareous-clay soil; the destemmed grapes macerate in concrete for about a week before a gentle press, and the wine ages six months in tank. The estate is certified organic and carbon-neutral.
Tasting Notes
Copper-orange in the glass, with candied citrus, dried spice and floral aromas; a week of skin contact gives it texture and warmth reminiscent of the Southern French countryside.
