Channing Daughters Winery farms its estate in Bridgehampton, on New York's Long Island. Meditazione is the winery's non-traditional, skin-fermented white blend, inspired by the "Vino da Meditazione" wines of Friuli in Northeast Italy — a style now often called "orange" or "amber" wine for the deep golden hue skin contact gives to white grapes. The fruit is hand-harvested from the estate's Mosaico block, fermented on its skins with native yeasts in small open-top bins, and raised largely in neutral French and Slovenian oak before further aging in bottle. The blend is built primarily from Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, with smaller portions of Tocai Friulano, Pinot Grigio, and Muscat Ottonel.
