Domaine Eric Thill is a small organic and biodynamic estate in Trenal, in the Jura, founded in 2009 by Eric and Bérengère Thill, originally from Alsace. The domaine has been Ecocert-certified organic since 2015 and Demeter-certified biodynamic since 2019, farming around six hectares including a significant share of Chardonnay. This cuvée comes from the Sur Montboucon vineyard, a south-facing, clay-limestone site, vinified plot by plot to express its particular soil and microclimate.
Tasting Notes
Jura Chardonnays grown ouillé (topped-up, without deliberate oxidation) typically show orchard fruit and citrus over a chalky, mineral backbone, with the racy acidity and textural grip characteristic of the region's clay-limestone soils.
