Roxanich is a natural-wine estate in the medieval hill town of Motovun, Istria, farmed organically and biodynamically with minimal technological intervention and carefully controlled yields. Mara is a limited-edition vintage rosé made from 100% Borgonja Istriana (the Istrian name for Blaufränkisch), a variety Roxanich showcases as a single-varietal wine rather than the usual local blending partner.
Tasting Notes
A coppery-pink rosé from extended skin contact typical of Roxanich's Istrian reds vinified in rosé style: red-berry and orchard-fruit aromas with a savory, mineral undertone, medium body, and the balanced acid-tannin structure that comes from Roxanich's slow, low-intervention winemaking.
