Profile & Story

Domaine Tatsis, based in Goumenissa in Central Macedonia, Greece, is a pioneer of organic and biodynamic viticulture among Greece's new wave of natural winemakers, farming native varieties on sloping limestone and sandy-loam soils at 250-300 meters. This rosé is 100% Negoska, a rare indigenous red grape usually blended with Xinomavro, grown in a semi-continental climate shaped by the cooling Vardaris wind. It is destemmed and given a classic red-wine style fermentation with native yeasts and no enological additives, then aged in barrel for more than twelve months before unfiltered bottling.

Tasting Notes

Negoska typically gives soft, fruit-forward wines with gentle acidity; in rosé form expect ripe red berry and stone-fruit tones over a rounded, dry palate with the light savory grip that comes from extended barrel aging on natural yeasts.
