Profile & Story

Founded in 1864, Alfred Gratien is one of the last Champagne houses to ferment every base wine in small oak casks and the only major house that never puts its wines through malolactic fermentation. The non-vintage Brut blends roughly 56% Chardonnay, 24% Pinot Meunier and 20% Pinot Noir from a library of reserve wines, aged around four years in bottle.

Tasting Notes

Light golden color with a fine, long-lasting mousse; white fruit (pear) freshness meets spiced, biscuity maturity from cask fermentation and extended lees aging.
