Armand Heitz took over his grandfather Armand Lochardet's Chassagne-Montrachet domaine in 2012 (now Domaine Heitz-Lochardet) and farms using permaculture and agroecology, having stopped deep-plowing in favor of cover crops between the rows. Chenevottes 1er Cru sits within Chassagne-Montrachet, a Côte de Beaune village renowned for structured, mineral white wines.
Tasting Notes
Dried pear, fresh hazelnut and butterscotch aromas with a fresh, expressive nose of cool ripe citrus and pear extract; fine volume and sappy dry extract carry a mineral-inflected midpalate to a lingering, bitter-lemon finish.
