Tenuta di Lilliano's history dates to the Middle Ages; the estate was acquired by the Berlingieri family in 1920, and the Ruspoli family, a historic Tuscan noble house, has produced Chianti Classico here since 1958, when the first vintage was crafted with the guidance of Sangiovese specialist Giulio Gambelli.
