Wente's Southern Hills bottling draws on roughly 400 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon along California's Central Coast, planted with clones tracing back to Charles Wetmore's nineteenth-century Bordeaux cuttings. Rocky, well-drained soils and distinct microclimates give the fruit depth and intensity.
