Domaine Christophe Mittnacht Terres d'Etoiles Cremant d'Alsace

Profile & Story

Founded in 1958 in the Alsatian village of Hunawihr, the domaine is today run by Christophe and Yuka Mittnacht. Christophe was an early pioneer of Alsace's biodynamic movement; the estate was certified biodynamic in 1999, one of the very first in the region, and continues to farm under the Terres d'Etoiles banner with organic and biodynamic methods (Ecocert/Demeter). Terres d'Etoiles is a traditional-method Cremant d'Alsace blended from Pinot Auxerrois (~60%), Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir, fermented and aged in stainless steel, then aged on its lees for 18 months.
