Profile & Story
La Torre alle Tolfe is a 100-hectare regenerative organic estate five kilometers from Siena, with winemaking on the property documented as far back as 1316; the Castelli family has owned it since 1953 and farms it organically since 2004 under winemaker Giacomo Mastretta. The Chianti Colli Senesi is roughly 80% Sangiovese with Ciliegiolo and Canaiolo, fermented and aged in concrete tanks with about 15 days of maceration; the estate deliberately avoids oak aging to preserve the wine's natural tannin structure and freshness (ABV 14.21%).
Tasting Notes
Plush ruby in color, with aromas of rose, raspberry and delicate spring violets; dark forest fruits and a rich, full body fill the palate without heaviness, backed by wonderful texture and grip.
