Our only distraction from Malbec, 2023 Blanco is a cofermented blend of 49% Marsanne, 47% Roussanne, and 4% Viognier. These varieties seem almost tailor-made to ripen well in Uco Valley, at 3600 feet of elevation. 2023 Blanco’s fresher spirit pairs with seafood, bot raw and cooked. On its own or with finger food. But always, always with good company.
Tasting Notes
Upright, tense, refreshing both on the nose and on the palate. Citrus and mineral notes dance in the aroma, enticing, expanding. White peaches flirt with white flowers! I can almost touch the spring meadows that this aroma makes me visualize. In the palate the wine is tense, upright, tight. Mouthwatering acidity gives it verve and passion. Again, the notes of white stone fruit, but now interwoven with mineral, almost saline notes that stay for a long time even when the wine is gone.
