Profile & Story

Patrick Leon, formerly the winemaker at Chateau Mouton Rothschild, purchased Chateau Les Trois Croix in Fronsac in 1995; since his passing in 2018 the estate has been run by his son Bertrand Leon. Fronsac reds are predominantly Merlot with Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, grown here on clay-limestone soils.

Tasting Notes

Aromas of red fruit, bell pepper and sweet spice with ripe blackberry and cassis flavors; a smooth, velvety texture, soft tannins and supportive oak aging.

Pairing Recommendation

Pairs well with steak au poivre or other grilled meats.
